Fruit kilometre 0

The I.C. Villaputzu continues the actions on sustainability, expanding those envisaged in the school's sustainability plan.

Since February 2020 pupils from Villaputzu and San Vito are involved in the  project  "Fruit km 0",  with the collaboration of the Secondary school  adressing to  agricolture and  gastronomy located in Muravera and Villaputzu, the Municiplaities and the local farmers.

Twice a week  students from Secondary school bring in the Primary school seasonal fruit from local farms, the Secondary School teachers (nutritionist, agronomist) explain to pupils the properties of fruit, children listen, ask questions, smell and taste. 

This week the topic was  non-alcoholic cocktails!

 

 

 

 

 

Greece: The Olive Tree

 The olive tree is an important part of the Greek economy and culture. History, tradition, modern concepts of sustainability always include the olive tree and its goods. In collaboration with SEDIK (Association of Olive Growing Municipalities of Crete) we took part in a celebration of awareness and information about the precious goods offered by the olive tree.
